We are continuously working towards improving it, keeping it simple, making it more helpful and providing objective lists. More.Īs a StartUp, SaaSHub is under constant development. That will help us keep all the information up to date. Once a product is verified, a vendor's representative is going to receive a monthly notification with a one-click option to verify their listing. Furthermore, it gives software vendors the control over their listing in our marketplace. For example, current pricing, description, logos, etc. On one side, it ensures that end-users see only up-to-date and verified information. The process of product verification is one of the cornerstones of SaaSHub. Then, based on our algorithms and user votes, we compile lists with the best alternatives. We collect articles containing product reviews, alternatives to a particular product or lists with the best software available in a specific category. While some products might be listed as recommended on the sidebar, the main lists are entirely based on objective criteria. We may highlight featured products, but we never move products up the ranking list just because they are featured. We will always use the same logic to prepare our main lists of alternatives. Our goal is to help end users find the best software and product alternatives while helping software vendors improve their online presence and promote their software. Overlays are shown, and no extra columns are available either.Īdvantage: uses absolutely no additional memory and does not slow downĭisadvantage: Status information of files and folders is not shown inĮxplorer.SaaSHub is your independent software marketplace. Because of that, files don't get an overlay andįolders only get a 'normal' overlay if they're versioned. With this setting, the TortoiseSVN does not fetch the status atĪll in Explorer. To show a folder in explorer than with the default cache. For big working copies, it can take more time Each time you navigate toĪnother folder, the status information is fetched again.Īdvantage: needs only very little memory (around 1 MB of RAM) and canĭisadvantage: Since only one folder is cached, the overlays don't show It also uses around 10-50 MB of RAM depending onĬaching is done directly inside the shell extension dll, but And since the processĬan send notifications to the shell, the overlays on the left treeĭisadvantage: the process runs constantly, even if you're not working if a fileĭeep inside a working copy is modified, all folders up to the workingĬopy root will also show the modified overlay. Information is not real time but it can take a few seconds for theĪdvantage: the overlays show the status recursively, i.e. The process runs with the least possible priority so other programsĭon't get hogged because of it. That process watches all drives for changes andįetches the status again if files inside a working copy get modified. Type of cache TortoiseSVN should use according to your system andĬaches all status information in a separate process Get hogged too much when showing the overlays. TortoiseSVN uses a cache to store the status so the explorer doesn't Since it takes quite a while to fetch the status of a working copy, You can read that, and choose the one you like most. This is not a problem, like Avada Kedavra said, actually, this is documented here, in the section "Icon Overlay Settings", and I also show bellow. Otherwise, try doing a repair install (and reboot of course). TortoiseSVN is a windows Explorer Shell extension and will be loaded together with Explorer. You rebooted your PC of course after the installation? If you haven't please do so now. Its a good read.Īlso, have you rebooted your computer after the install? From the TortoiseSVN FAQ: Do you have lots of other programs that are also using overlay icons? If so maybe you can find a solution in this thread: TortoiseSVN icons not showing up under Windows 7? The second most voted answer also deals with network drives etc. Its a safe operation.Īpparently this is not enough according to your comment. Note that the clean up will only clean up your local working copy, it wont do anything to the actual repository. Keeping TortoiseSVN on the latest version may or may not help. I have never been able to solve this permanently, this is only a work-around. It usually is fixed by either refreshing the Windows folder (F5) or, by doing a SVN Clean up, Right click on the folder -> TortoiseSVN -> Clean up. This is, unfortunately a quite common problem on Windows where the icons are either not updated or rather disappearing.
